I'm just thinking about the gear sets for just WHM that I had.. that I do miss. Loved the ultra customization and specific rotations that could make or break you in XI. I remember changing gear sets just to cast protect in Dynamis. And all the spells!! Then mages had atleast 100 spells in their arsenal. Now, in XIV, we get about 25, Cheap FFXIV Gil though to be fair, 14 is just beginning. Excited to see where things go from here. Nostalgia also plays a big role. I love the game but realistically it wont feel the same playing it today. Back then i didnt call dynamis, sky, etc raids and end game, i just knew them as their name. Youd play with the same people, now you queue up in a system, so you'd get attached that way.
I mean me and one of my best friends to this day remember our first day in Vanadiel, him yelling for a cure because the the bee outside of windurst was too tough for us and i was already running for my life to zone back into windurst... lol. My 4 mains in 11 where RDM, BRD, WAR & THF in 11. And made it easier for me to keep my exp capped and my merits maxed out fast. RDM and BRD where the most depended on support jobs in 11 before 80 cap launched. I pulled with both in merit parties and in endgame.Watching Avesta videos always gave me chills @_@ I was so jealous and inspired. Ff11 took true skill, redmage was an amazing job.
And don't forget Zerg burns we where the drumbeat that kept everything going. But 14 has no support mechanic. Omg i miss that game soo bad. A real MMO when the game use to be soooo hard. Before power leveling and all the easy missions. Yeah the depth of lore in FFXI was nuts. Or how way too op they were, almost broken.Till BRD came. Then we were unemployed for a hot min. Yep Rdm FFXI since 2001 before they nurfed it. Those were the days allright. It was fun to tank HNM Kings when it was the huge hype and you get like 60-70 "...examines you." hehe!
